Andy Atlanti$ - Descent To Tha Depths
Released this past Friday, Andy Atlanti$ made his latest effort, OSG, available for download via his bandcamp page. OSG is an 8-track long collection of some of his best beats. The album’s epic art depicts Andy Atlanti$ as a king of the sea. OSG, with song titles such as, “Sippin On That H20 (Current Got Me Movin Slow)” and “Cokey White Sand (All In Her Nose)”, is a super chill, fresh, smoke a few to, instrumental tape of hip-hop coming from straight Florida.
“Descent To Tha Depths” is a personal favorite that is reminiscent of a slowed-down MF DOOM. The snare/hi-hat attack and the bass-less bass drum add a subtle, yet enjoyable, rhythm section to the equally subtle horn lines.

Hopefully you’re well aware that tomorrow, record stores across the nation, and around the world, will be participating in an event known as Record Store Day. The annual event, which falls on the third Saturday of April, celebrates local record stores. Several record stores in South Florida, including Sweat Records and Radio-Active Records, will be hosting the event, as well as day-long festivals featuring live music. Sweat Records’ SweatStock, will be a free, day-long, event featuring many of Miami’s local acts. Radio-Active Records’ will have Block x Blog that will take place at three different venues inFt.Lauderdale, where tickets are available online.
Every year, labels and bands, put out special releases that are only available on this “holiday”. It would be financially impossible for us to purchase all the releases we’d like to, but we put together a list of 20 items that we’ll consider grabbing this Saturday.

Performances by: Kazoots, G. Wonders, and DJ Woozles
Columbus, Ohio based rapper Blueprint is no stranger to the world and business of underground hip-hop. In addition to collaborations with artists such as Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox, Mr. Lif, Slug of Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, RJD2 and Illogic; he also writes regularly on his blog at Printmatic.Net which is appropriately subtitled, “The Music & Adventures of Blueprint”. He’s produced and released his own records, along with the works of Illogic under his label Weightless, and is also currently signed to Minneapolis-based hip-hop label Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Blueprint has made appearances, and even toured, with the now defunct annual hip-hop festival Scribble Jam. Blueprint is definitely a busy man; having released Deleted Scenes in 2012 and finishing up another collaboration album with Illogic as Greenhouse Effect, which will see a summer release and tour. In February, he went on a Florida run, the Deleted Scenes tour, which made a stop here in Miami at the Catalyst. The free show featured local openers King Konfident, Seven Star, and Soarse Spoken. After his set, we had a chance to speak to Blueprint and asked him a few questions that range from early influences to plans for the future.
Last month I had the chance to interview Blueprint. Here’s how it went.
